The upgrading of your equipment is an essential part of equipping your character. Upgrades increase the base damage and the enchantments of items.

They also provide bonus effects and improvements. The Blacksmith can also sell them to you.

The upgrade button is available on any item. Each recycled item adds one level to the upgrade gauge.

Weapons

When the weapon is upgraded it will gain a base damage bonus and an increase in the scaling factor that affects other stats. Certain upgrade components have cosmetic effects and others provide additional attributes. These upgrades can be inserted into weapons, armor, trinkets, or gathering tools. Most require that the equipment has an upgrade slot that is available and meet certain requirements. Once a weapon or armor piece has an upgrade component in it, the item can be replaced with another, but the previous upgrade will be destroyed (except for legendary equipment and upgrades). Upgrade components can be retrieved by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool, or using a high-end salvage tool on the item the item.

In addition to the basic upgrades, a weapon can be upgraded by adding the Calibration Attribute which improves certain stats, such as Weakspot Damage or Crit Rate. This can be done through the Gear Workbench's interaction menu. Based on the tier of the weapon it can be done up to four times.

Once  item upgrading  has reached the maximum level of upgrade, it may be reforged with a number of different types of upgrades to increase certain stats or add bonuses and effects. These upgrades can be used simultaneously, and their effects will depend on how rare the weapon is.

There are two Blacksmiths in the game that can perform these upgrades: Blacksmith Hewg in the Church of Elleh hub area and Smithing Master Iji on the Road to the Manor Site of Grace. Both require different upgrade materials: Smithing Stones for standard weapons, and Somber Smithing Stones to alter the damage that a weapon inflicts.

In general, it is recommended to increase the damage of your weapon first, then armour defense, then the other secondary stats as required by your build. It is not uncommon to see melee Druids upgrade their weapon before upgrading other gear. This will increase DPS. This is especially applicable to enchantments, which can be extremely efficient in increasing the damage of a weapon and other stats.

Armor

Item Upgrades let players enhance the base stats of specific pieces of armor weapons, trinkets, trinkets and gathering tools. These upgrades may also have additional effects like increased damage or cosmetic enhancements. Item Upgrades are available by crafting, purchasing from NPC vendors and loot drop, or as quest rewards.

Upgrades to armor may require multiple attempts, based on the type of armor. For instance, if a player wanted to upgrade a Steelclash armor to Dragonscale, the first attempt would result in a new piece of Dragonscale with an initial defense range of 59-67. The second attempt would result in an Dragonscale armor with an initial defense range of 67-77.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild allows players to upgrade their armor sets to level 4. To do this players must visit each of the four locations referred to as Great Fairy Fountains in the game. Each of these locations houses the power of a fairy who can upgrade one piece of armor for the player.

The fact of the matter is that some armors provide significant enhancements to poison or curse, fire or magic damage reduction, which makes them extremely useful for certain types of builds. Potion

By placing a potion on the stand for brewing, you will be able to unlock new effects. The upgrade unlocks a new tier of potion effect, and can be repeated for higher levels of potency.

The potions also have a custom color, which can be selected by the player via the /give. This color will affect the effect clouds' area-of-effect as well as the arrows that are generated. In Bedrock Edition, the custom potion color also applies to the effects of the potion's particle effects.

Trinket

A trinket could be an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. It can be a necklace or ring. Or, it could be a tiny banner to mark the yard of a boat. It could also refer to an gilded trinket attached to the mast of a vessel.

This bizarre trinket appears to be influencing the residents of this maze, making them more common.  item upgrading , at the moment, makes all types of mimics more prevalent and gives each floor a Y% chance that it has an ebony replica. Upgrades to this trinket will cost a small amount of energy.

The magic of this enchanted scepter seems to affect the dungeon itself, making it more likely to produce water and grass. At the moment, this trinket can make X% of regular floors filled with water or grass however it won't affect enchantments or the glyphs, cursed weapons, armor, or other items created to aid in the elimination of hazards.

Although it appears to be the normal eye of a newt this mystical item seems to affect your vision in ways other than simply reducing your field of view. At its current level this trinket increases the overall health gained from drinking potions of healing, waterskins and wells of health by X% and grants mind vision on enemies within the Y tiles. This trinket does not stack with the Heightened Senses.

Skull Cavern is where you will find Trinkets after completing the Mastery Cave. You can find them by defeating Monsters, and in chests and crates. They can't be found in the Mines or Volcano Dungeon.

Place the trinket into the Anvil when it needs to be upgraded. This will affect the trinket that is random that will either enhance or intensify its effects. You can reorge a Trinket for as many times as you like, but it will always have an impact that is different from the one it was when you forged it.

You can upgrade your Trinkets at the Alchemy Station by placing them into the Magical Catalyst. This will cost you 6 energy and increase the trinket's power by a small amount.
